About us

Our history

We, that is the Choreologist Tatjana Thierbach and the OtrinArtManagement GmbH.

Tatjana was Uwe Scholz's choreologist from 1993 until his death. She notated the majority of his works and rehearsed them in major companies around the world.

During her time at the Leipzig Ballet, she worked closely with Uwe Scholz and studied his artistic intentions. On the one hand, this relates to the detailed musicality and execution of his choreographies.

She also witnessed the creation of lighting design, costumes and stage sets. In addition, however, she witnessed how Uwe acted when transferring a choreography to a new cast or ensemble.

It is a challenging and exciting task to understand where Uwe knew how to "attract" a choreography of a new cast with other potentials and other personalities, and where he was uncompromising in his demands on the musical content and his straightforward style.

Our mission

The artistic legacy of Uwe Scholz

Tatjana Thierbach has been the heir to the moral rights of Uwe Scholz since 2020.

From January 1, 2026, it will also assume all rights of use and licensing rights to the complete works of Uwe Scholz.

In order to maintain the work of this important choreographer, who died too soon, and to ensure his artistic integrity, we aim to transfer it to a professional, globally active body.

Tatjana Thierbach, owner of the copyright and artistic director, is cooperating with OtrinArtManagement GmbH, which has taken over the marketing of the works.

Uwe Scholz Dance Works International is already dedicated to the preservation and performance of Uwe Scholz's choreographic legacy. Our aim is to carry his vision and creativity into the future and to inspire a wide audience for his musicality and the art of dance.

Companies or individuals who have been January 01, 2026 would like to perform or present one of Uwe Scholz's works or an excerpt from it, are obliged to obtain permission from the owner.
